What a week {in pictures}

I don’t know about you but this week has just plain wore this mama out.

Sometimes I get so riled up about things that don’t really matter {am I the only one that does that?}  I try to live my life through the lens of eternal significance but get so easily tripped up by the trivial.

I love the verse in II Timothy 1:7 that says God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power, love and of a sound mind.

A sound mind.

I haven’t done a word study to see what the greek word used in this passage is but I imagine that a sound mind is one that is not easily distracted.  A mind that is focused on the things of God, not of the world. A mind that doesn’t second-guess or doubt but instead is resolute in it’s beliefs and morals.  A mind that doesn’t give in to the temptation of worry and worst-case-scenario-ing, like I tend to do. A mind surrendered to God.

This week I have kept this verse on my desk and prayed specifically for a sound mind.

What have you prayed for this week?

And changing directions drastically in the confines of one blog post {which I can do ’cause it’s my blog}, I share with you cell phone photos from this week.

Last Wednesday, I dropped my “guys” {as Sweet Pea calls them} off at the airport for a month long trip to spend time with my family in Florida.  I miss them like crazy but from conversations and pictures on facebook, I know that they are having a good time.  I must also say that it is eerily quiet in the house and I don’t have to go to the grocery store near as often…interesting 😉

Speaking of my Sweet Pea, she loves to play with my iPhone.  And, she really loves to see herself in it.  She took this picture of herself and I just love it!  Can’t believe she will be two years old in September.

I recently went to a freezer cooking party {which actually deserves a post all it’s own} but we have a freezer full of really good meals.  And, I cooked fish, y’all.  Then, in even more miraculous events, I ate it! And I liked it!  My hubby and Jason were home when I cooked this and liked it too. Maybe I will have to put fish on the menu more often?

Sweet Pea fell asleep on my lap this week and I sat and soaked in every minute.

Last but not least, I got a MUCH needed haircut with hi-lites.  I feel 10 lbs lighter with all the hair she cut off.  Much better 🙂

Praying that you have a good weekend.  I know I plan to!
