The man who “gets” me and loves me anyway

The brothers who are now men, not boys.  Shared experiences, good and bad, that formed the people we are today

The nephew that has had my heart in his hand since the day he came to be

These three boys of mine, growing to be young men too fast. This mama’s heart can’t keep up

And the girls, teenager and babe, that have captured my love and occupy my every day.

And those who we were with in spirit but not geography.

And those who I wish we spent more time with but the bridge to that place has not yet been built.

And those friends who are truly my family of choice.

So much to be thankful for but family tops my list.

and counting these 1000 gifts continues in this week spent basking in the thankfulness {51-60}

~a rented Toyota Sienna van that drove the 2000 miles for me to spend time with my family

~for a hubby who spends his time off driving me 2000 miles to see my family

~turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes with dad’s homemade gravy, green bean casserole and pumpkin brownies

~cell phones that allow me to get texts of my girls so I don’t miss them too much while away

~sweet tea from the south

~mouth watering burger from What-a-Burger

~the promises of Isaiah 58

~foregoing Black Friday shopping and not missing it at all

~hugs from my dad

~the happy chihuahua who’s tail has not stopped wagging since we got home

  1. It is a delight to meet you Melissa. Thank you for visiting.
I’ve enjoyed reading through your list. It really is so wonderful to spend time with family. I’m so glad you got to drive that 2000 miles to be with them!
