I “stole” (with permission) this idea from my friend, Jill at Forever ‘n Ever ‘n Always.  I love the idea of sharing what God has on my heart with you at the start of the week.

God hears our prayers.  That may not be earth shattering news to you but sometimes we need reminded (or at least I do).  For instance, at a Bible study on Thursday morning my friend, Noelle, prayed for someone close to my heart to come back to church.  This person hasn’t been to church in months so to be honest I thought it was nice for Noelle to be praying that and asking God to work on her heart but I wasn’t holding my breath.

So, yesterday I am on the stage, singing praises to God with the worship team (so my eyes are closed and my hands are lifted up towards my King).  At one point, I opened my eyes and there in the second row sat this person. Tears welled up in my eyes as I realized that God had done a mighty work in three days.  Then my next thought was shame.  Why hadn’t I prayed this a long time ago?  God instantly reminded me that He had been working on this heart for weeks and that while He wants me to approach His throne on her behalf, He has it under control.

Humble yourselves before the Lord and He will lift you up.  James 4:10

That is exactly what God did in that moment…He humbled me.  He doesn’t need me or my prayers but He wants both.

I love this verse from Isaiah 59:1

There are many things I am lifting up to the Lord this week and it is so refreshing to have been reminded that He hears our prayers and is ELOHIM, the all-powerful, all-knowing God that is able to do above and beyond all that we can imagine.

Be sure to stop by the new site, (in)courage, where you will be inspired and where you can leave your prayer requests as well as pray for the needs of other sisters in Christ.  I never leave that site not having been encouraged in my faith walk.

I would ask that you all be in prayer for a little girl from our church family (Jessica, 5 years old) who was just diagnosed with leukemia on Thursday. She has already started treatment.  Please pray for her and her sweet parents and siblings during this time!  Thank you!

What are you believing Him for?  Please share in the comments…

  1. I think alot of times we all worry and pray about stuff for ourselves, that we forget to pray for others (well at least I do) Thank you for the reminder. 🙂

  2. Hi, I’m Angelita, your right. That’s the way he speak to us, reminding us His words. Most of the times, in many ways, I am reminded how greatful He is and how I need him. Just like now, reading your blog reminds me God will always be God no matter what, we pray or not pray, praise Him or not praise Him, He will still be the allmighty God. He love so much, thats why sometimes, he gave us trials to remind us that we need Him. It’s a great and wonderfull work of Him how everything falls into thier places, how everything work together for those who have faith in Him
