Thankful Thursday- Wisdom

You know who is wise? God. So, why is it that I forget that so easily? That I forget that the one who spoke the Earth into being knows my situation and has a plan bigger than me, and better for me than I could ever create for myself? ‘Cause I struggle with this thing called humanity, I guess.

For instance, I know the truth of James 1:5 which says

If any of you lack wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.

Do I always live like I know that? Nope. I second guess myself. Did I hear God? or am I projecting what I want on to God?

Wisdom is more then head knowledge, it is heart knowledge. Discerning God’s will- that is in your heart, your spirit. Your head knowledge can just get in the way. The world’s “wisdom” can trip you up.

I want God to give me wisdom to know the direction He wants me to head in for every situation and just as James 1:5 promises- if we ask Him for that wisdom, He will grant it. I am so thankful for that. Because left to my own devices I get in a lot of trouble!

You and I have picked the same scripture, James 1:5. I’m so glad He gives wisdom generously. Like you said, left to my own devices, I could get in a lot of trouble!

Hey Melissa! You’re doing great but I know what you mean about being left to your own devices. We sure can mess up God’s plans sometimes, not that He won’t accomplish what He wants anyway 🙂 We could cooperate more is what I mean. Anyway, Happy Thankful Thursday!
