Laughter Lives at the Smallwood’s

Well, my sweet puppy, Chloe, is “potty trained”. She’s a smart little gal, perhaps taking after her multi-tasking mama? I digress…recently she has made a game out of the puppy potty pads that she uses.

First, it was the tear them to shreds game. She took a pad and chewed and clawed it to pieces. After the emergency vet incident, we would strongly prefer that she not consume anything other than dog food so we were quite perturbed with this behavior. However, since their is a layer of baking soda inside the pad that was all over her it was difficult not to laugh out loud at her.

Then, she started the let’s eat the toilet paper that Mama is using to pick up my turds. Trying to pick up her petite droppings while she is pouncing on your hand and tearing at the TP is not an easy feat. But, boy does she (and my kiddos) find it amusing.

And, then the ultimate no-no for cute little girls- eating your own poo. Last night, hubby was bending over to clean up her poo and Chloe beat him to it and gobbled it up. Even more hilarious was that my kids thought this was absolutely gross- coming from the children who smell each other’s farts (on purpose) and have stored dog poo in the freezer (imagine what mama did when she found that?) to see what happened to it when it was cold, their disgust surprised me a little.
Then, as if I was not laughing hard enough, hubby had me google if this was normal puppy behavior (it is) and how to stop it. After google searching “how to get dog to stop eating poop” and receiving 334,000 answers, I needed a pee pad.

Just for the record, how can you be mad or disgusted with this?

I’ll just get her some breath mints.

hahahha great post! I have a little 4 lb Pom and she makes me laugh all the time. That’s the thing with dogs, they can be bad but sometimes they are just too cute! My dog never had a tearing problem, but my sisters dog did. I think it’s a puppy thing. She pretty much grew out of it! Good luck and your dog is ADORABLE!
